New Year’s Eve

Happy New Year! We have had a very exciting day here. Malian’s celebrate New Year’s Eve better than we do in the states. Fireworks were going off all over the city and they were all having large parties. We took a more quiet approach. Cherif invited a kora player to come and entertain us for a while – very cool. Then we sat by the pool and counted down to the New Year with sodas. The soda here, by the way, is excellent as they use real sugar instead of high fructose corn syrup.

I hope you all enjoyed your evening and had fun with your own celebrations, be they quiet evenings with loved ones or crazy parties!
